MTW offers cutting on a fiber-optic laser, which lets us cut materials at a faster pace at a lower cost. Fiber Optic lasers can cut reflective materials such as copper, brass and aluminum better than CO2 laser competitors. It also excels at cutting thin materials, such as thin stainless steel at up to 3 times the speed of CO2. The laser's electrical efficiency results in lower running costs, which means a lower price for the customer.

Water Jet Cutting
Water Jet cutting is another cutting option offered through MTW that allows for more complex jobs with less waste. Through our waterjets' small kerf, we are able to offer close nesting of parts that optimizes material use and leaves a machinable edge, as no heat is introduced to cut. Additionally, waterjets are environmentally friendly and can use water only to cut textiles and food-grade products. With the addition of fine abrasive garnet sand, we are able to cut thicker and harder materials.

Tool and Die
MTW offers a cost-effective alternative for shops in need of tool and die work. We offer modification and refurbishing services as well as development and design of new dies. We offer the ability to machine, heat treat, EDM wire cut and grind die blocks. In addition, we can often proof the die design after assembly. This can be a cost-savings solution versus our competition or retaining in-house tool and die capabilities.

MTW's machine shop offers low-volume runs at competitive pricing. Our machining department specializes in working with low-quantity and one-off runs for agriculture and prototype machine building, as well as offering turning center and machine center capabilities for higher-production runs. We can use our wide range of manual machine tools such as broaching, ferrous and non-ferrous sawing capabilities, radial arm drilling, 18-ton stamping press, horizontal milling, and long-reach tapping arm in order to meet our customers' needs.

Welding and Fabrication
MTW’s Fabrication department came to life in response to customer inquiry combined with strategic long term planning for the overall growth of the company. It started as a modest welder and small table and has evolved into a large portion of our shop that includes multiple welders (MIG and TIG) and overhead cranes. By offering welding services for various materials (carbon steels, stainless steels, and aluminum), it is a department that provides our customers the opportunity to have a product ship complete and arrive ready for installation.

In conjunction with our growing Fabrication department and interest in fully operational product leaving our dock, MTW offers component and weldment assembly for most orders placed through us. By offering this service to our customers an order can be cut, machined, formed, welded, painted, assembled and tested (if needed) all under one roof and arrive to you ready for work. From prototype work to repeat runs, we have the tools and product supply lines to satisfy most customer demands.
MTW offers forming utilizing Precision Wila tooling to alleviate witness marks and ensure consistency. Our 4-axis CNC back gauge and hydraulic clamping system makes tool changing faster and cost-efficient. With CNC crowning capabilities, we can guarantee parts are consistent throughout when formed. If the customer requires, MTW can check flat patterns for bend allowance to make sure formed parts are within tolerance.

Painting and Finishing
MTW offers wet primer and wet paint spray capabilities to add a protective coating to customer parts. Our Col-Met Modified Downdraft Booth allows us to paint most parts and assemblies in any customer specified color. Having this within our walls offers the customer the option of having a product painted without having to arrange transport to another outside source, saving time and money in the process.
We can tumble parts in our 6 foot bowl or smaller tumblers to either deburr or dry parts of oil as well as blending witness marks and smoothing hole edges for pipe/tube insertion.
